St. Germain’s colorful fall events – join the fun

Fall is a true celebration in St. Germain – this town thats surrounded by Northwoods forests practically explodes with brilliant color each year. While incredible seasonal beauty can be found on any fall day, St. Germain hosts special events that are the perfect excuse to travel north. Here’s what you know about two classic St. Germain events – Colorama and the Greater St. Germain Musky Tournament.

COLORAMA

While there are a number of fall color events in the Northwoods, a true original can be found in St. Germain. Colorama takes place Saturday, September 16 in St. Germain Community Park (near the intersection of State Highway 70 and State Highway 155). Colorama has been around for 65 years and St. Germain holds the title of “Birthplace of Colorama,” a claim made that was made official with a declaration by Wisconsin’s Secretary of State.

When you experience Colorama, you’ll see why it has become such a beloved fixture in the Northwoods. It’s the unofficial kickoff to the peak fall color season and it celebrates everything fall. Here are some event highlights:

Festival fun: Colorama is a lively family friendly event and it’s fun for all ages. There’s a lot to see and do at this year’s Colorama. Concessions and live music takes place all day, there are wagon rides in the park and a colorful “Mums the Word” flower sale.

Craft show: An expansive craft show anchors the festival and it’s a must-visit. The show features more than 50 Northwoods artisans and you can discover beautiful and unique items that you won’t find anywhere else. It’s the perfect place to find something beautiful for your home or cabin, or find the perfect gift for someone special. There’s also a Farmers’ Market that has a great selection of fall produce, canned items, and more.

Car show: You won’t want to miss the Fall Cruisin’ Car, Truck & Bike Show. Dozens of classic vehicles will be on display at the festival, as they compete for nine categories, plus People’s Choice and Best of Show. The show draws everything from pre-1950s cars to modified trucks. The cars are parked right at the festival grounds, so spectators can check out all the entrants.

Cornhole Tournament: Are you ready to show off your cornhole skills? Bag will be flying at the third-annual tournament and some of the best cornhole players in the Northwoods will be competing. Grab a partner and join the fun!
