SAXational with Rob Verdi

The Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts (HCPA), is supported by the Whitetail Lodge as a season sponsor, is opening its Spring season by welcoming a very unique performance in the Northland Pines High School auditorium on March 20, 2026 at 7 pm. Sax-Sational, highlights Rob Verdi, an in-demand saxophone virtuoso who has been touring and performing for decades. His distinctive show is musically supported by local high school band members and a few retired teachers and music teachers who have been invited to join Verdi onstage during his live concert. These talented young students and Verdi explore a variety of musical styles including popular jazz standards of the swing era, iconic songs associated with the saxophone, movie and television theme songs and trendy, contemporary pop hits. This event is a great encouragement for students to continue in music.

The Sax-Sational performance is sponsored by a local memorial fund, the David E. Anderson Fine Arts Student Outreach Fund. Anderson was a beloved educator, teaching high school band and chorus for 32 years in the
Northland Pines School District in Eagle River. With a lifetime focus on his faith, family and music, Mr. Anderson, was also co-founder of the Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts and believed strongly in their efforts to bring first class fine arts performances to the Northwoods. After his passing, his advocacy for students resulted in the Anderson family forming the Fine Arts Student Outreach Fund which has supported the efforts of HCPA looking for opportunities to endorse student outreach. HCPA will honor Anderson with a tribute display of memorabilia collected during his tenure with the school district and its students.
