St. Germain Breakfast Spots

A big weekend calls for big flavors, and you’ll find plenty of delicious breakfast options in St. Germain.

Head to DJ’s Northwoods Family Restaurant and you might see a crowd of snowmobiles and cars gathered outside. There’s a reason. With DJ serving up hearty options like walleye and eggs, biscuits and gravy, and Mom’s homemade potato pancakes, you’ll leave DJ’s satisfied and ready for the day.

If you’re on the move, stop by Jamie’s Java for a delicious latte or coffee and a pastry or muffin from their well-stocked case.

Red Canoe Coffee & Cocktails is a St. Germain classic. As the name suggests, you’ll find the caffeine boost you need, but they also offer a great menu of quick and delicious options. The establishment serves up fresh favorites like avocado toast and it also has some savory breakfast paninis. Kids love the Campfire PB&J panini!

St. Germain Snowmobile Trails

St. Germain is located in heart of snowmobile country. We’re proud to be home to the largest snowmobile club in Wisconsin — the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club. Their dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to maintain some of the best trails in the Northwoods.

Check current St. Germain trail conditions and be sure to follow the club’s Facebook page for updates.

Once you’re in St. Germain, you can leave your car parked at your lodging — the trail system connects you to dining spots and hundreds of miles of spectacular scenery. If you’re hoping to put in some serious miles on the sled, St. Germain makes the perfect basecamp.

Need a sled? Rentals are available at St. Germain Sport Marine, Premier Powersports & Marine, and Rocks Rent-All.

Don’t miss the St. Germain Radar Run, a high-speed February tradition. And while you’re here, visit the Snowmobile Hall of Fame — it’s also located in St. Germain and has Saturday hours.

St. Germain Ice Rink

Join the fun at St. Germain’s newest winter attraction — the skating rink at St. Germain Community Park.

The unique rink was created by the hardworking St. Germain Volunteer Firefighters, and it’s covered by a beautiful wooden pavilion roof. The rink is well-lit, making it a fun and safe destination for an evening skate. Skaters of all ages are welcome at the rink!

St. Germain Silent Sports

If you’re looking for a quiet adventure in the forest, St. Germain offers several scenic trail systems perfect for silent sports.

The rolling Fern Ridge Recreation Area Trails are groomed for fat biking and snowshoeing. The Awassa Trails are popular with cross-country skiers and snowshoers, and they also feature a short fat bike loop. For even more miles of winter exploration, head to the wild Shannon Lake trails for skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking through beautifully rolling terrain.

St. Germain Ice Fishing

St. Germain is a year-round fishing destination, and ice fishing here is incredible. Popular St. Germain ice fishing lakes include Little and Big St. Germain Lakes, Pickerel Lake, and Lost and Found Lakes.

Stock up on supplies at Last Cast Fishing Outfitters or Knitt’s Hardware Hank before heading out onto the ice.

St. Germain Nightlife

For some visitors, nightlife means taking in a dark sky that’s full of bright stars. On certain winter nights, you might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Frozen lakes like Big St. Germain Lake offer wide-open views of the night sky.

If you’re looking for something livelier, there are plenty of reasons to head into town. Many St. Germain establishments feature live music on the weekends, including Pine Knot Tavern, Red Canoe Coffee & Cocktails, and The Original 420 Bar & Grill.

Winter passes quickly – we hope to see you soon in St. Germain!
