NORTHWOODS FALL ART TOUR

The Northwoods Art Tour is a self-guided tour of 32 artists' studios, many of which are rarely open to the public. The purpose of the tours are to engage the public in the art making process, and many artists encourage people to try their hand at the medium. The artists provide demonstrations during the 3 day tour, and have artwork for sale at every location. 2010 tour dates are: July 23,24,25 and October 1,2,3, from 10-5 daily. WISCONSIN FREE FISHING WEEKEND

Every year, the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday in June are designated as Free Fishing Weekend when you can fish without a license throughout the state of Wisconsin. All the waters of the state are open, including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and nonresidents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days. However, all other fishing regulations (length limits, bag limits, etc.) apply. Remember, kids 15 and under never need a license.

Held at the St. Germain Community Center from 8:00 AM to Noon each day.  A reminder that in Wisconsin waters, if you were born on or after January 1, 1989, you are required to complete a boating safety course to legally operate a motorized boat or personal watercraft (PWC). Even if you are not required to have a safety certification card, earning one can save you money on boat insurance and make you a safer boater.
